Sultan – a very good looking and a very handsome St Bernard has his own share of misery when his earlier owner/ breeder left him on the road to die. He was found in a slum eating from the roadside garbage bin in mumbai suburbs and our heart melted to see the condition when he was rescued with tick fever, a wound on his foot and a very malnourished health condition who was tied 24 by 7 to a small chain outside on the road on a plastic container. It was heart-breaking to see this prince in such a pathetic condition.
24 August 2016. we got him home in confidence as we were anyway taking care of our 2 good babies (Leo and Gabbar) and had no clue of what was in store for us. We started playing with him, patting him, and the first thing he did was ,bite Subhash (my husband) . He used to bark continuously and he was so aggressive that we got so scared of going close to him. He ensured that he created terror for all of us, and we got stuck as his relationship with Leo and Gabbar was also not good, and we realized that we have a big problem to solve now. We tried everything for him, different dog handlers, trainers and experts , but no change in his behavior. We spent a lot of money, but he was just not improving. He also started harassing Gabbar and Gabbar got very scared of Sultan. He troubled Gabbar so much that we were behind them to ensure that he does not attack Gabbar.
With good food, homely atmosphere, regular vet visits and a lot of love , within a few months, Sultan became so strong and healthy that his looks were matching his name, Sultan. He became the king of the house.
Finally, after much deliberation and consultation, we got him neutered and slowly his behavior changed. He became so cute , so adorable and finally was able to be friends with Leo and Gabbar! He turned out to be real Sultan with so much of love and affection to offer !
This is how our journey started with the beautiful world of DOGS and our family grew with these wonderful souls called Leo, Gabbar and Sultan!
